This page describes how Etqaan handles your information. It is written to match what the product actually does and is being reviewed by a solicitor before launch; the reviewed version will replace it here.

What this page covers today

Etqaan has not launched. Right now the only information this site collects is what you type into the early-access form: your email address, and — if you choose to answer them — which circles you should be counted toward, your broad time-zone region, and where you are with the Quran. All three optional answers exist so we can invite people in groups large enough to fill a circle.

How your email is used

Your address is used to tell you when the first circles open in your scope. It is not sold, rented, or passed to advertisers, and it is not added to a newsletter. Every message includes a one-click way to leave the list. If you would like to be removed before then, write to salaam@etqaan.app and we will delete your record.

In the app

These commitments are built into the product rather than promised alongside it:

• Circles are audio only, and sessions are not recorded.
• Men and women are not visible to each other anywhere in Etqaan. This is enforced by server-side authorization and row-level database policies, not by hiding parts of the interface.
• There is no online, available, or last-seen status anywhere in the app.
• Quran progress is treated as personal data, not as public content.
• Post-circle feedback is private. It is never shown as a rating on anyone's profile and never identifies who gave it.
• Etqaan is for adults 18 and over, confirmed at signup.

Deleting your account

You can request deletion from inside the app. Feedback you gave that has already affected another member's readiness is anonymized rather than removed from under their record, because deleting it would retroactively change someone else's history.
